JB Original Cold Weld

A high quality cold weld two part epoxy system that provides strong, lasting repairs to metal and multiple surfaces. Mixed at a ratio of 1:1, it forms a permanent bond and can be shaped, tapped, filed, sanded and drilled after curing. At room temperature, JB Weld sets in 4 to 6 hours to a dark grey colour. A full cure is reached in 15 to 24 hours. Once fully set the cure is waterproof as well as petroleum, chemical, and acid resistant.

Could not decide which adhesive would best repair my Hp Elite laptop broken lid hinge bracket. This grey 2 part epoxy is slow to set 24Hrs to full harden. Relatively easy to apply, not too fluid. This proved to be very strong well worth buying, vastly superior to the quick set alternatives and will be useful for many other permanent repairs.

Works as expected but would be nice if a wee spatula was included same as comes with Araldite, otherwise all good. I've used it as filler on metal frames, it's easy to sand and can be painted over. I've also used it to repair various things around the house and garage without any issues. It takes a while to cure but it's not the 'rapid set' version so that's to be expected.

I used this to build a £430 large resin Warhammer Forgeworld model from Games Workshop and it works perfectly. Just mix it together in a small container, and apply it with something like a toothpick or a cotton bud, leave it to set for a day. The adhesive stays wet and workable for hours, but seems to be quite solid after 6 hours. Fully set after 15 hours and fully cured after 24 hours. I've not used it for anything other than the resin model I build, so can't comment on how it works for more typical household items.

Bought to fix a very heavy replacement smoke hood on my Victorian fireplace, there were screw holes provided but I didnt fancy drilling into the cast iron backplate. The contact area was not huge, only around the edge, so this needed to be very strong. Did the job. Would be nice if the setting time was faster, and it didnt need mixing from two tubes, but those are trivial points.

At first I was sceptical because I tried multiple products and they all failed. I needed something to be able to fix laptop hinges . Customers don't always want to replace the lcd lid or bottom or palmrest, because its expensive. But this little gem does the job exquisitely. Highly recommended. P.S.: Let it dry 24h .
