Air Bed Pump Buyer's Guide
The right pump depends on what you're inflating, where you'll be using it, and how often. Here are the main types we stock:
Battery-Powered Pumps
Lightweight, portable and ideal for camping. Run on AA/D-cell batteries or built-in rechargeables. Perfect when there's no mains hook-up.
Mains-Powered Pumps (240V)
Fastest inflate/deflate times. Ideal at home, on hook-up pitches, or for larger inflatables like double airbeds and family-size air mattresses.
12V Pumps
Plug into a car, motorhome or campervan cigarette socket. Great middle-ground for road-trips and pitches without electric hook-up.
High-Pressure SUP Pumps
Built for inflatable paddleboards (15+ PSI) - regular airbed pumps don't reach high enough pressures.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does an air bed pump take to inflate a double airbed?
Mains-powered pumps usually inflate a double airbed in 2-3 minutes. Battery pumps take 4-6 minutes. 12V pumps sit somewhere in between.
Can I use a normal air bed pump for a paddleboard?
No. Standard air bed pumps reach around 1-2 PSI; paddleboards need 12-18 PSI. You need a dedicated SUP pump (manual or electric high-pressure).
Do these pumps deflate as well as inflate?
Most do - look for the deflate / reverse mode in the product description. Some compact battery models are inflate-only.
Which nozzle do I need?
All our pumps come with multiple nozzle adaptors covering the common valve sizes used on airbeds, lilos, pool inflatables and beach toys.
Is a 12V pump suitable for a campervan?
Yes - 12V pumps are perfect for campervan and motorhome use as they run direct from the leisure-battery cigarette socket without needing hook-up.
