Product Information

The Quest Nuuk is a 3-way portable fridge with a 43L gross capacity. It runs on gas, 240V mains or 12V, so you can use mains power when you have it and gas or 12V when you are off grid. It is a fridge rather than a cool box: it cools the inside to 25 degrees below the outside temperature and keeps working well in hot weather, when cool boxes struggle more.

On mains, a thermostat knob sets the temperature. On 12V it plugs into a cigarette lighter socket and runs continuously without temperature control. On gas it lights with a piezo igniter; 100% propane or 100% butane is recommended, and gas operation is for outdoors only. It draws 75 W on both 12V and mains; it is low wattage, so it can be used on campsites without overloading the electrics, and it is noiseless in operation.

Suitability

The Nuuk suits campers who want a fridge that runs off grid on gas or 12V as well as on mains. On gas it must be used outdoors only, in a well-ventilated place above ground and protected from rain: it must not be run on gas in enclosed spaces, or in a vehicle or boat while it is moving. On electric it can be used in an enclosed area but must be kept away from moisture. On 12V there is no thermostat and it will often take longer to reach temperature. Run it on one power source at a time, keep it level (tilt tolerance about 2 degrees) and store and transport it upright. Run it on mains for 24 hours before a trip, and have it serviced annually if you use it on gas.
